Tobacco is made up from the tobacco plant. The plant is a part of Nicotine family.There are more than 70 species of tobacco.The most cheif commercial crop is N tabacum.Dried tobacco leaves are commonly used in Smoking cigarettes,cigars,sheesha & many other smoking stuff.The land used for tobacco cultivation is completely barren or infertile for the first time.
WHAT IS TOBACCO?
Tobacco is a plant grown for its leaves,These leaves are dried & fermented before being put in tobacco products.As we all know, tobacco contains nicotine,and nicotine is the main & lead ingredient of addiction,That is the reason why so many people who use tobacco find it difficult to quit.There are also many other harmful contents found in tobacco and also created by burning tobacco.
HOW DO PEOPLE USE TOBACCO?
Generally people can chew,smoke or sniff the tobacco products.Smoke tobacco products includes cigarettes,cigars,bidis,Hookah and many more.Chew tobacco products includes chewing tobacco,dip,snuff and snus.Snuff can also be sniffed.
HOW DOES TOBACCO AFFECT BRAIN?
If anyone takes any nicotine product then blood absorb it fastly.After entering in blood, nicotine immediately stimulates the adrenal glands to release the hormone epinephrine (adrenaline). Epinephrine stimulates the central nervous system and increases blood pressure, breathing, and heart rate.As compare to other drugs like cocaine & heroin, Nicotine increases level of the chemical messanger dopamine,which directly affects the brain.
OTHER EFFECTS OF TOBACCO
Nicotine is addictive substance.Tobacco smoking can lead to lung cancer,mouth cancer,and many other diseases which leads to cancer.Even smokless tobacco also leads to cancer & causes dangerous diseases.Preganant ladies who smoke cigarettes run an increased risk of miscarriage,premature delivery or give birth to infant with low birth weight.Smoking in preganancy also associated with behavioral problems with children.
Medications and behavioral treatments can help quit smoking.But the combination of medication with counselling is much effective to quit smoking and nicotine.
